alk&me is a love for all that is fiber, color and creativity. there’s chemistry and artful thought process behind the hues. mostly though… it’s a passionate calling for all things fiber.
There’s something to be said about a second lease on life… alk&me is that for me. Years ago I fell in love with a spinning wheel just watching someone spin. I was at a point in life where my mind needed to be set free after the trials of 3 decades as stylist and salon owner, and that wheel? It called to me. Dramatic? Oh, yes!! But that day I touched my very own wheel sent me down a rabbit hole of mystery, color, passion and a love of all things fiber almost overnight. I’ve always been in love with color. All color. Color moves through us and in us with emotions so profound and for me, it feels as though those colors will just explode out of me!! So I dye! And I dye… then dye some more.
When I am not in the studio dyeing things for festivals that I attend or for our LYS, you’ll find me weaving or spinning and when I’m not doing any of those…well, I teach all things fiber.
